What exactly is Therapeutic Recreation?
Simply put, Therapeutic Recreation is responsible for assisting in maintaining and enhancing a Resident’s quality of life. These professionals are part of the interdisciplinary team that collectively function to ensure that a patient’s physical, mental, and social needs are met with the goal of improving and maintaining health and well-being. Therapeutic Recreation plans, organizes, leads and directs group and self-directed activities to meet the needs of individuals with varied physical disabilities and cognitive impairments.
Do I still need the services of Therapeutic Recreation if I’m only planning a short stay at your facility for rehabilitative services?
Absolutely. Therapeutic Recreation can provide a wealth of resources in accordance with your leisure interests to help restore and foster independence. Our goal is to help make your stay with us as pleasant and enjoyable as possible as we encourage and support pursuit of your interests and hobbies.
